|01:08 am - *cackle of glee* Hi, all!|
A global welcome to art_boulton_3, for joining us here at the wonderful
timesuck world of LJ! And a local welcome to everyone already here I've gotten to friend as a result of the retreat this past weekend.
Speaking of which, for word-count I claimed that I had written 10 words, but that they were really good ones. I thought I'd share:

Please, I am so curious. What is this "word count" thing I keep seeing? I'm getting a complex about it. Enlighten me, if you would?
Haha, some of your ten are favorites of mine. The first three are so pleasant, and the crown of them all is camaraderie. Futhark just has to be used more, for something! Love the hall-of-mirrors redundancy of coequal. And Synecdoche, New York, just epitomizes the rest of that state, doesn't it? :P

There was a whiteboard up at the writer's retreat I was at last weekend, and people could post a count how many words they had written. On the last day there were prizes, including one for the most written/highest word count - which turned out to be erdnase2000
with 22,900+. Being mostly a poet among many novelists, I put that I'd written 10 words, but that they were Really Good Ones. :)
was great. Four days out in the woods by Lake Quinalt with 30-odd other writers, many of whom turned out to be on LJ (thus my frenzy of friending). The idea is to go out there, turn off your connectivity, and just work on your writing. (It was easier before they got WiFi in the resort lounge.) There's another planned for next March, probably the same weekend.
Now Art just needs to actually put something ON his LJ. :)
