Went out for a while to see if I could see any meteors, and yeah, even here in the light-polluted big city I could. Even with the haze of light clouds scudding around. I was able to lie on the hood of the car - and scooch myself around so that most of the neighbor's lights were at least obscured. faintheart is over (hence the car) and he and my mom came out for a while as well. I came back in because my back was getting sore, but I'll probably pop outside and check again around 3:30 a.m. Quite satisfactory viewing for being in the south of West Seattle, I must admit, in spite of the neighbor's back porch light being left on, damnit. I know I've been out in the backyard with it off, and I'm fondly hoping it is on a timer and will go away between now and then.

6:41 a.m. By 3:30 a.m. the clouds had wandered in and so I was glad to have gone out earlier.
