11:37 am - alas, ouch
Thursday night and Friday day my back was feeling better, and I think consequently I overdid it. Today I'm almost as bad off as I was on day 1, Flexoril or not. I've sitting gingerly with a hot pack on my back, and I'm going to have to skip my SIFF films today, alas. If anyone can make a 1 p.m. showing and wants my ticket to Christmas Tree Upside Down (at the Harvard Exit), if you can come by my place here in West Seattle to pick it up, it's yours. I'm bummed because I was planning on meeting up with celyn100 there. I hope tomorrow is a better day, as I have another 11 a.m. film planned.

I did watch two DVDs I checked out: Ghost in the Shell 2, and Perfect Blue. Both are films I missed in the theater, but had been wanting to see for some time.

I'm afraid GitS2 didn't really come up to standard of the original GithS, for me at least - but the first one is also one of my very favorite movies, so I'm probably holding the second one to absurdly high standards. On its own terms it is a fine enough work.

I really enjoyed PB, very surreal multi-layer story. The director, Satoshi Kon, had a film called Paprika in this year's SIFF, but both of the showings have already passed. I imagine I'll get ahold of it on DVD eventually, like I did this one.

There are these heating pad bandaid things. They have these hot rocks in them and last like, 8 hours. But they are very slim and you can wear them under your clothes. They get really hot, so you may want to put a pillowcase or tshirt between the rocks and your skin at first.

It's supposed to be getting a wider U.S. theatrical release, so that shouldn't be your only chance to see it.

Have you seen Millenium Actress? Also the same director, also quite good.

I have not seen Millenium Actress. Thanks, I'll put it on my list.
