opt out of pre-screened credit offers

To electronically opt out of prescreened credit card and insurance offers for five years, go to the Consumer Credit Reporting Industry website and fill out and submit the form on their web page. You will need to provide your full name, current address, date of birth and social security number.

To permanently opt out of these offers, go to the same site but select the option to print out and mail the Permanent Opt-Out form.

Save a tree! Save your sanity! Cut off an avenue for identity theft and annoy the credit companies at the same time! Petty it may be, but pissing off folks who call me a deadbeat for paying off my entire balance every month gives me joy.
