from the disconnected times

31 July 2006 6:15 a.m.

Today's lesson in "I knew that" is: don't leave your room key-card on top of your laptop overnight. Unless of course you WANT to degauss it and not be able to get back into your room the next morning after going down to grab a muffin from the free breakfast.

The current inclination is to go ahead and get the AC fixed in spite of what is most likely a fairly steep price tag. They promised to have an estimate for us this morning around 9:30 a.m. Back in Twin Falls, before the AC unit melted itself into a solid lump of slag, the price tag was around $1100 if I am remembering correctly. Hard to say how much that may have increased. Waiting is the hard part, but at times I think my entire life is a lesson in patience, as far as that goes.
