What the infamous burn looked like as of Monday. Via my phone's camera. It's not that bad looking, and it's not a close-up, but you can see the extent and why it has been contributing to my being over-tired of late.
burn as of 11 April 2006
To reassure y'all, the blackish looking stuff is adhesive tape residue, not damage. It's only 2nd degree...

Looks plenty ouchy. Do you have Silvadene or something to dress it? That stuff saved my hide when I (while canning) ladled boiling jam over one of my thumbs.

I can certainly see why that would be taking it out of you. Hope you feel better soon *hugs*

Yep, silver sulfadiaza-whatsis to the rescue. Although not without some rigmarole, of course: doctor says it's over-the-counter, pharmacy says it isn't. Telephoning ensues - but the result was I did actually manage to obtain some. It does seem to help, as does the ciprofloxacin oral antibiotic.

Somehow I missed the post on exactly what happened here, and I'm trying to find it... wow, it looks serious and I'm glad it's mending!

The short version: I believe I spilled rubbing alcohol while cleaning an ingrown toenail too close to some incense I was burning. However, I was blacked out from drinking at the time, so I'm not entirely certain what really happened. It concerned me enough that I checked myself into the psych hospital for a week, ending last Friday.

I realize there are a host of problems implicit in that paragraph up there, and most of them I'm working on with the help of professional medical folks, as well as some holistic methods and practitioners. Progress is measurable, but slow...

I'm glad to hear you're O.K., at least O.K. enough to be dealing with this, I mean. That's scary.
