Over the weekend I saw Mrs. Henderson Presents with Judy Dench and Bob Hoskins. I enjoyed it, but what struck me about it was how while a parallel enterprise might possibly have had its existence in the US, the very sad, kind and practical motivations behind it are woefully absent from our side of the pond.
