Firefly season 2 icon
"Seeking Independence from the Network Alliance"

At the site you can register your preference for type of distribution method for a second season, if offered: TV, PC or Mac. There is a comments section, as well. It claims all fields are optional, though I gave it my name anyway. (It also asks people not to stuff the ballot box, so to speak, and only register a preference once each.)

I'd love to subscribe to a set of DVDs with a second season...

Ok, so I'm paranoid

Is there any evidence that this is valid? I notice there is not footer links for the association, there is no real commitment to how it's working, and I was under the impression Joss Whedon was done with Firefly.

So...could this be, at best, a hoax, at worst, an attempt to bilk people?

Re: Ok, so I'm paranoid

They are pretty up front about who they are:
Who we are:
We are an independent production company and core group of Browncoats. We are not affiliated with 20th Century Fox or Universal Pictures.

We are currently pursuing the rights to continue the series from Fox and make it available to the fans, either directly or via another broadcaster.

The optional information collected at this site is simply used to determine where and how the series should be marketed to consumers. (that's you!)

This site is NOT a solicitation for funds. If anyone claiming to represent this site, or any other site for that matter, asks you for money or sensitive personal information, you should report it immediately.

No, it doesn't sound as though Joss is involved at this point. To be honest, there are a number of franchises I would purchase serial DVDs of, so I'm happy to get the information to anyone willing to collect it.
