I am now on file with the State of Washington because I have a cold.

Yes, it is easier to get into the federal building downtown than it is to purchase a package of decongestant. I was asked for and presented my ID, from which my information was laboriously copied into a binder. Plus what I was buying, how many milligrams of pseudoephedrine total I was purchasing, and how many per doses that should be. Maybe even the serial number of the box, for all I know. It took three times as long as any other transaction I've ever made there.

Just put it on Schedule A and get it over with, all right? I wish I had half a hope of finding e e cummings universe-next-door.

Bartells doesn't give you the third degree yet, at least the two I frequent don't. Also, if you buy gell caps with pseudophedrine, they don't even have to be behind the counter yet, although that's probably going to change.

Can you tell my household has been sick all fall and winter??

I think Walgreens took the preemptive strike approach, because what I bought were the cold & cough liquicaps. Walgreens has the advantage of being a block from my house, so at least I make up in travel time for the time the data dump took.

Yeah, I got the third degree/binder treatment at Safeway when I went to get a new inhaler (which they don't carry anymore), and nothing at Bartell's. I was also told that you can't buy more than 2 items with pseudoepinephrine at once.
