|09:33 am - finally!|
Some of the media is breaking the lock-step "eek! a terrorist! Here, please take my civil liberties and destroy them in the name of safety!" Bush-backing. Today's sigh of relief goes to Robert Steinback in the Miami Herald, for Fear destroys what bin Laden could not via Reddit.
I agree with the article with one edit. Bush thinks he's God, not a king.
A vengeful, hateful God.
And no, I did NOT vote for Bush in the last election.

Took 'em long enough
Before the end of the year in 2001 I was already trying to spread the meme "Terrorists cannot destroy us. They can only trick us into destroying ourselves."
But it started to seem like the only people who would believe it were the people who already believed it.

Re: Took 'em long enough
You have been part of a tiny but persistent chorus that until extremely recently (as you say) seemed to be soundly ignored by the vast majority.
I'm not sure what broke through the apparent conspiracy of silence, but three cheers that it's broken, anyway.
