what the eye sees and doesn't know

There is a store window I walk by on the way to work that has a zeppelin in the window. It says "Hindenburg" on it, and yet I've thought since I first saw it that something was wrong. I finally figured it out the other day - instead of a swastika, the tail-fin ornament is an equal-armed cross. Not the X it would be if they just trimmed the feet off, but red square white circle black cross.
