|07:22 am - Tomorrow and tomorrow|
My kin and I are making pilgrimage to the Grays Harbor Shorebird Festival, tomorrow. I've been meaning to mention it for a while, but other things have been drawing my focus. The nice thing about it, to me it seems, is that while there are lectures and organized events, there's also just going and watching the birds.
The estuary there is apparently a major stopping point for Arctic-bound shorebirds on migration. Which of course gives one the opportunity to see the food chain in action as you can't collect tens of thousands of Plovers and Sandpipers and Dunlins in one place without attracting the occasional Peregrine Falcon, Osprey or Bald Eagle.
Now to find my opera glasses sometime between now and the crack of dawn tomorrow.
