The problem with these word counts is that the first couple-three dozen are not interesting. Everyone has the same most common words; it's only when you get down the list and find the words that occur at greater frequency than they do in general prose that you learn anything.

And what do we find? We learn that for you, "people" holds much more interest than it does for, well, people in general. Usually, you find it about twice as far down word-frequency lists. This won't be good for your misanthropic image.

Ah, but perhaps "people" occurs as often as it does because I am constantly inveighing against them! More practically, I use the word a lot as a gender-neutral pronoun sort-of thing.

I had noticed that "people" was the first really interesting word on my list, as well. Perhaps it is a family thing, as Ted has "zombies" in essentially the same position...

Hmmm. I'm suspicious. I don't think this is your list. The words "coffee" and "roast" should be in there somewhere. I did this once. My first words that weren't general-use words were film, films and movies.

Thought I would try it again just to see if there was a difference. Film and films are gone. But movie (singular) is there and bollywood (surprise!) has shown up.
