People called the wedding of Charles and Diana a fairytale wedding.
I think the storybook wedding happened today, with Charles and Camilla.

love's not time's fool
There's "fairytale" and then there's "romance."
One was a very practical, too-perfect, and sadly calculated fairytale.
This is a gritty, inescapable, uncontrollable romance.
My sympathies have always been with Diana, because she was such a good, kind, innocent and tormented person. But I must admit it's extremely romantic to see love triumph over time. Good for them, after all of this. He could easily have traded Camilla in and gotten away with it now, because at this point nothing's shocking anymore. But he came through. And that fidelity, even considering the tragedy of how Diana was treated, is impressive in itself.

Re: love's not time's fool
One of the things that struck me looking at the photos of yesterday's wedding was how happy they looked. I stayed up (or got up, I can't remember which) to watch the first one, and I remember thinking that neither Charles nor Diana looked like they were having very much fun - even as naive and sheltered as I was then.
I have a great deal of empathy/sympathy for Camilla, as well - so it's restorative to see things work out for her, finally.
