My plan for last night wasn't exactly to come home, lie down for a nap around 7 p.m. and get up now, but that's how things worked out.

Today is all about teeth, and the rigamarole having braces causes getting your teeth cleaned to become.
  • 8:30 a.m. - present self at orthodontist to have wires removed.

  • 9:00 a.m. - present self at dentist to have teeth cleaned.

  • 10:30 a.m. - present self at orthodontist again to have wires put on, ratchets ratcheted, springs sprung, and teeth cranked into various apparatus while things are adjusted.

  • 12:30 p.m. - present self at work, doped on ibuprofen, in a vain attempt to accomplish something useful in the afternoon. Alternately, go home and collapse from the combined trauma of the various procedures and having spent the entire morning having my personal space violated.

Something that was cool about yesterday evening: getting home before dark. Getting home just at sunset, actually, and looking up to see the full moon rising.
