If you have an eastward view, go look at the lunar eclipse.

I can see that the shadow is a shadow - in other words, I can still see the full disk of the moon, with the earth's shadow falling across roughly half of it, at the moment.

Really, how often do we have decent astronomical viewing weather around here? Go look, you won't regret it.
