once upon a time, there was a storm drain...

In front of our house, that is. I knew I'd seen it in the past, so I figured if I took an old broom and removed the leaves that were clogging it, that would do it.

Nope. I am not sure exactly when, but it is silted up really solidly, with grass and stuff growing in it.

I played around with it some, to see if I could get the fairly fast-moving drainage stream to start to clear it, and by the time I was done it had dug fairly deeply into one hole in the grate, but I'm not too sanguine.

I did at least clear the cross-walks of the leaf-bounded lakes they had developed. For now, that is.
