day of the luddite

I sent my iPod away to be fixed/replaced, and they sent me back a 'new' one. Which, unfortunately also does not work. Different problem, but still no music.

So I sat down this morning and went through all the troubleshooting steps, and reinstalled, rebooted, and reset the thing several times, with no effect. So I went to the section of the Apple web page where you request repairs in order to re-open my trouble ticket, but it didn't want to talk to me either.

So I tried telephoning grouchychris to see if he was interested in doing anything, the singing from the church next door only serving as an added irritant. The phone promptly hung up on me twice.

So I stomped over to his place to continue the conversation in person. I was curious how long it would take me to walk there in any case, and the walk would both stretch out my twitchy legs (the geocache hiking/hunting yesterday aggrivated my RLS, not surprisingly). He kindly let me sulk in his livingroom for an hour or so, very decent since I showed up essentially unannounced.

Finally I settled down enough to remember I need to do some laundry before the pile threatens to occlude my doorway entirely, so I excused myself to come home.

I hope the washer and drier aren't computerized...
