It's trickier to work with than I thought - mostly because the biggest gauge needles they had were 10s, just the size for it to be just possible to almost mistake the "eyelashes" for additional loops, and sometimes accidentally stitch into them. However, if I remember to stroke the eyelash bits down toward the bottom of the piece between rows it seems to work out.
They're aluminum needles as well, so quite slippery. I'm probably going to have to hit a proper yarn store soon, I can tell. Thanks to the folks who've sent me recommendations!
