Last night, cjot, uly, amnotsurly and I went to see the Lost Skeleton of Cadavra at the Varsity. It was pretty goofy, but in a good way. Less a parody than an homage - played pretty damn straight in the tradition of the early B movies. The production notes and FAQ on the Sony web site are amusing, in part because of their earnestness. Last night was the last night for it at the Varsity, but I thought I overheard that it might be moving to the Metro - no guarantees, though.

It was fun, in a bad 50's SF sort of way. A re-creation rather than anything bitingly satirical - sort of like if there were an SCA for Golden Age sci-fi.

Oh, well.
