pedestrian at sea

I did go see Wooden Ships and Iron Men Master and Commander yesterday afternoon, and I'll even confess to liking it. I wish I liked boats more. Or at least understood the romance of boats more - I like them fine, but I doubt they'll ever be anything more than another way to get from point A to point B. Peter Weir's magnificent direction was a treat to watch, which is part of why I say I wish I liked this sort of movie better... amnotsurly was right, my favorite bits were the parts on the Galapagos Islands.

I had probably better hide the actual motivation that got me into the theater behind a cut-tag.

It was sphinx_n_herhat's revelation they were showing a trailer for Return of the King beforehand. I should have gotten a ticket for the 2:30 a.m. showing while I could... Ah well, I'll survive the extra wait.
