I found the etymology site that I love again! Michael Quinion's World Wide Words - it's where I linked to for the bezoar definition earlier. It wasn't until I went to the home page to look around a bit (don't think a logolept like myself could get away from such a site without at least a little look around...) that I recognized the name and the writing style, and some of the FAQs - like his essay on the "third -gry word riddle." It looks like the url is different than I remember - maybe the last time I unsuccessfully went looking for his site he was between domains or something.

In any case, if you (like me) can spend hours lost in the dictionary going to or from a definition you've looked up, this site is dangerously addictive. Just so you're warned.
