(no subject)

All of my family-related holiday prep is done. My friends are going to have to be patient and forgiving, as my resources are not vast this year in terms of both means and energy. In terms of celebration, it makes more sense for me to give New Years gifts in any case, having missed the solstice already.

Not to mention that there is part of me that would rather surprise someone with a gift "off-season", especially since appropriate gifts don't always manifest themselves on a strict calendar schedule. Since I'm not particularly invested in replicating gifts of magi ( O. Henry's or otherwise) or a quasi-obscure Turkish saint the December deadline for gift-giving doesn't loom that large.

Or perhaps I'm just making excuses. None of which should detract from my hope, however, that whatever holidays people celebrate be pleasant and delightful ones.
