this and that

File under industrious - I did some tidying up of my computer area, but it still looks like mostly what I did was shift piles of things around. Sigh. I took a box-full of papers out to the recycle bin, at least.

Apparently the church across the street that has been sold was purchased by the Seattle Housing Authority. They are currently over there thumping and banging about, I'm very curious. I should go look at their website and see if they mention the project at all.

Frey fray

I read A Million Little Pieces, James Frey's recovery memoir, about a month ago, and found it to be fairly gripping. It seems, however, that his account may have been somewhat more poetically licensed than is generally accepted in something filed under "non-fiction." The Smoking Gun has the story.

I do remember thinking the book came off as rather Chuck Palahniuk. Who, granted, has always said that people he knows and the stories they tell him are the inspiration for the characters in his work.

It will be interesting to see how this all falls out.
