interlude, with fur

Saturday started out with a visit to the vet. Those of you who have patiently endured my maternal dithering about Xiombarg and her decline in food consumption will be relieved to know she is healthy and ok, as far as a physical examination can tell.

Upon returning from the vet, I settled in to read Lullaby, which I had picked up at the talk on Friday. I finished it just in time to head down to the Cinerama for the afternoon showing of Lawrence of Arabia - which I'd never seen before.

Today, in contrast, was pretty straightforward.

Breakfast at Rosebud, notable for McJulie (of gothhouse) who was down from Bellingham for Foolscap and amnotsurly who rarely joins the breakfast crowd. MikeK was also down from Bellingham, but he hasn't been up there long enough for it to seem novel to see him around. Since I'm half-way through the role-call I'll finish it out by mentioning that grouchychris, Carol and Ulysses were also present.

Afterward I rode along with Ulysses and Carol to deliver McJulie back to Foolscap (in Bellevue), with a small detour to Archie McPhee.

Then it was home to the cat, laundry and other things I need to take care of before Thursday.

dramatic, tragic, romantic

Three adjectives applied to my preferences today ("that* sounds like a Joy thing") that I wouldn't have picked on my own.

However, upon examination, I can't really argue with them either. Heh.

In other news, I bought East Timorese coffee today. I had no idea they had a varietal; it makes sense upon actual thought, but Zoka's was the first time/place I had encountered it.

It's not bad. I prefer the indonesians and africans, so I shouldn't be surprised at it being to my taste.
