Yesterday morning, for the first time in I can't honestly remember how long, I woke up to the music setting of my alarm clock. By which I mean that I wasn't startled out of sleep, my waking cycle and the music actually coincided. On the other hand, both last night and the night prior I went to bed fairly early. But being able to sleep soundly at all is most welcome, even if it is from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
I didn't sleep much at the coast, I mostly napped. I joked at one point that I was becoming an elf, because I spent a number of hours watching the full moon set over the ocean and then I was awake for the rest of the day. Ulysses accused me of being a cat at a later point, since I was apparently twitching while I was napping, in a cat-like fashion.
The problem becomes, in a house full of 12 people, several of whom are thus bedded down in the common area, what to do with oneself in the middle of the night that won't disturb the others. I have not yet come up with a satisfactory solution. Taking the common area doesn't work in part because of the distribution of couples... mostly I just try to be quiet.
