six of one

So Purple Noon and The Talented Mr. Ripley are both based on the same novel, so I can't really complain about the similarities. And in actuality, they were more different than I expected. Mind you, I could easily have missed something in the translation of Purple Noon, but there you go.

Purple Noon seemed to focus more on the noir aspects of the story, TTMR on the psychological and class issues, but again, the language barrier might be keeping me from awareness of PN's deeper aspects. I liked both versions.

Think I'm going to save the Princess and the Warrior for another night, though.
